FAQS
This club doesn't run without you!
Getting started with Speed Unlimited
ATHLETES
Q: Do I need previous track and field or cross country experience?
A: No. We work with athletes where they are and help them to develop their full potential.
Q: Do you have tryouts?
A: No. Athletes just need to bring their enthusiasm and commitment.
Q: I play other sports. What if I can’t make practice?
A: Athletes get out what they put in to the sport. You are expected to regularly attend at least two practices per week.
PARENTS
Q: How can I help with the club?
A: We count on parent volunteers to make the club run smoothly. Roles include assisting at practice (no experience necessary), photographing practices and meets, helping at meets, booking fields, and serving as a board officer. If you have track and field experience, even better.
Q: What is needed to volunteer?
A: All volunteers must complete a background check and take the Safe Sport certification training through USATF. We do ask that at least one parent per family register to volunteer.
Q: Do I need to stay during practice?
A: Parents of athletes 9 and younger must stay on site during practice. All parents are encouraged to remain at practice to assist coaches as needed. It’s also a good way to build our club community.
